Compare dog wheelchairs by your dog's weight and leg height, the two measurements makers size by.
Before you choose
Brands size wheelchairs differently: some by weight, some by the height from the floor to the inside of the back leg, some by both. Enter both and we show the sizes that fit. Ask your vet whether a cart is right for your dog.

For degenerative myelopathy, Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine lists "considering a wheelchair to support the hind limbs" among management steps, along with slings or harnesses (Cornell). Ask your vet or a rehab therapist whether a cart suits your dog.
Rear or full (4-wheel) support?
A rear cart supports the back legs only. A full-support cart adds front wheels for dogs whose front legs are also weak. In a 2024 University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine survey, caretakers reported better quality of life for 74% of dogs in hind-wheel carts, versus 54% in quad carts (Narum et al., Frontiers in Veterinary Science). The data are owner-reported. Ask your vet which type fits your dog.
How do I measure for size?
Most makers size by weight and rear leg height. Walkin' Pets measures rear leg height from the toe pads to where the leg meets the belly. Best Friend Mobility instead sizes by height from the floor to the top of the back at the hindquarters, not by weight. Always use the maker's own sizing chart.
Are there risks?
Yes. In the same University of Florida survey, 60% of dog caretakers reported at least one complication; wounds were most common, often on the inner thigh, armpit or tops of the paws (Narum et al., 2024). Check fit and skin often, and ask your vet or rehab therapist to help with fitting.
Why do prices vary so much?
Budget carts from brands like VEVOR and LetPetRun sell for about $54-$353 here, Walkin' Wheels and Best Friend Mobility rear carts for about $187-$582, and Walkin' Wheels full-support carts for $539-$834. Prices change often; check the seller page.
