Older dogs often slide on wood, tile and laminate. Toe grips, grip socks and boots add grip to the paw itself; rugs and runners add grip to the floor. We list every size separately and match it to your dog's paw width or weight.
Before you choose
Grips, socks and boots are sized by paw width or dog weight, so measure across the widest part of a front paw while your dog is standing. Rugs and runners work for any dog, as long as they cover the path your dog actually walks.

Toe grips stay on the nails and leave the paw pads free. Socks cover the whole paw and can twist or slide off on some dogs. Which suits yours depends on your dog; your vet can help if your dog is slipping a lot.
How do I measure my dog's paw?
Have your dog stand on a piece of paper, mark both sides of a front paw at its widest point and measure between the marks. Front paws are usually the larger pair, so size to those.
Do short nails help a dog stop slipping?
Yes. The Dog Aging Project says short nails are essential for a dog to use their paw pads for grip. It suggests a routine trim every 3 to 4 weeks. Ask your vet if trimming is hard.
Are dog boots or grip socks better?
Boots have a full rubber sole. Socks are easy on and off but can twist so the grip ends up on top. See boots vs socks vs toe grips.
How many socks or boots come in a pack?
It varies. In our list, DOK TigerToes and Pet Life socks come 4 to a pack, while YOULY socks and Reddy boots come 2 to a pack. Check so you have enough for four paws.
