How we work

We help you find gear that fits your older dog by the measurements makers publish, and we do the math the box leaves out. Buying comes after that, once you know what fits.

Where our numbers come from

Every spec comes from the maker's own product page or the store selling it. We record measurements, weight ratings and size charts as written. When a maker doesn't list something, we show "Not listed". When two pages disagree, we say so on the product page.

The angle

Makers rarely say how steep a ramp will be. We calculate it from the ramp's length and the height you enter, using the same right-triangle math a builder would. Sizes

Harnesses, wheelchairs, belly bands and beds are sized differently by each maker: by weight, by girth, by leg height or by length. We list each size as its own row and match it to the numbers you enter. Always measure your dog and check the maker's chart before you order.

Where to buy

Once you've found a product that fits your dog's needs, we try to make the next step useful too.

Some products are sold by one store; others are sold by many. We don't try to list every store that carries an item. Instead, we show the buying options we believe are most useful, based on things like price, availability, the type of seller, and where the product is normally sold.

Some of those stores are affiliate partners, which means Gray Muzzle Gear may earn a commission if you make a purchase. When buying options are reasonably comparable, we may give preference to an affiliate partner. But if we find a materially better buying option elsewhere, we'll show it whether or not we earn a commission.

Affiliate relationships never decide which products match your dog's needs, and they never change the product information we give you.

Prices and stock

Where we show a price, we show the date we checked it, and we take it down once it's more than 30 days old. We aren't a price-comparison site and can't promise the lowest or current price. Prices and stock change, so the store's page always has the final say. We recheck store links about once a month.

What we don't do

We don't test products in our own home, and we don't pretend to. No maker or store pays to be listed, ranked or described more kindly. Found a mistake? Tell us on our contact page and we'll fix it.
